Chicago Style – OHIO University Libraries

chicago-manual-16The Chicago (University of Chicago) Manual of Style is used in a variety of disciplines. Ohio University Libraries has a subscription to the Chicago Manual of Style Online for use by Athens Campus students, faculty and staff.

Here are several freely available online sources for the Chicago style:

  • Chicago Manual of Style website: has abbreviated information; not a substitute for the complete book
  • Ohio State University: examples for the Author-Date system
  • Ohio State University: examples for the Notes-Bibliography System
  • Purdue University (OWL)
  • Research and Documentation Online (Diana Hacker and Barbara Fister)

You may need to consult several of these sources to find how to cite the source you are working with. If you are doing a large research project you might want to use Zotero to create and format your list of sources online.
