Earth Day, Books and Reusable Bag Giveaway

On Monday, April 23 in order to celebrate Earth Day the library (4th Floor Circulation Desk) will be giving away reusable bags with the borrowing of any book, video or miscellaneous library materials.  First come, first serve. Get ‘em while supplies last.

The bags are courtesy of the Common Experience Project, Apocalypse: Bright Future/Dark Futureand were purchased to promote the project as well as offer sustainable alternative to plastic bags. How are libraries sustainable?!

  • Book borrowing:  every time you check out a book, you recycle.
  • Printing:  double sided by default; change to 2 pages on each side and really save paper (and money).
  • Recycling Bins:  the usual suspects (plastic, bottles, etc. ) as well as batteries, cell phones, printer ink cartridges and CFL bulbs.
  • Technology:  purchase of online databases which include online journals, magazines and newspapers.
  • Cafe Bibliotech:  Bring you own mug and get your coffee for $1.25.  Bring your own bottle and fill it up.
